, for each one I have need 6-12 month.
Till 2000 besides I had also worked at REPRODUCTION DOLLS.
At many international doll shows in ENGLAND, GERMANY, SWITZERLAND and AUSTRIA with competitions.
I received for my dolls 61 awards (1995 - 2006).
I make my dolls most times only in small limited editions (2 - 20 pieces worldwide !) sometimes only as "one of a kind" dolls, than the molds will be destroyed !
The limited editions I make only in "Various -series" (it means each doll is painted differently, has different eyes, wigs and clothes. So no one looks like another doll of this series).
Each of my dolls is made individually, only by my own hands and has a certificate to prove this, which is very important for collectors.
In 1990 I began to make dolls of porcelain, after I saw at a big doll show many of this kind of dolls (I show there clowns of cloth with painted heads of plastic, which I made to this time). These dolls ("modern artist dolls") was very fascinating to me !
So I inquire how this dolls will made and where I can learn it.
So I took part at a doll makers class for reproduction dolls, but I was not happy there, because the teacher teaches 10 or more students and had only very little time for each student to explain some things. After this class I bought some used molds and made my first some reproductuion dolls alone.
Some month later I drove for a five days dollmakers class to one of the most famous dollmakers of Europe Mrs. VERA SCHOLZ in Buxtehude near Hamburg.
This class was for sculptering and building molds of our own created dolls.
There we was only five students and we worked daily from early in the morning till late evening.
I was not very satisfied with my doll, but now I know how I can make it and I could make it at home alone when I have time enough and inspiration.
But in the next years I made mainly reproduction dolls to become perfect in the craftsman´s part of dollmaking (to make greenware, smooth it, burn it, paint it, burn it again after each painting, put in the eyes, put on the wigs, sewing the cloth bodies, cram it, create the dresses, sewing the dresses and some more.
Besides making this reproduction dolls, I made more and more my own creations, self sculptured dolls, from which I made molds for casting by myself and finished it.
After some time, I only made this own creations and not longer reproduction dolls.
I´m enjoyed the praise and the appreciation of dollmaker mates, collectors and competent doll show visitors, which confirms to me again and again that they can see in my dolls, how I work on it with all my love and meticulousness.
At many of my doll shows I received awards as confirmation of the quality of my work.
